2014 HGTV Dream Home: Behind the Scenes of Media Tour
Last week I had the good fortune to work on a project at the 2014 HGTV Dream Home located in Truckee, CA. They were doing a "Live" satellite media tour with radio and television stations all across the country with HGTV Host, John Gidding and HGTV Dream Home House Planner, Jack Thomasson. It was fun and very interesting to see how this was done, but let me tell you, we started our day at 2am and the project wrapped at 10am...the off-hours were killing me by the end. I literally took a nap when I got home 4 hours later and got to bed early that night to make up for the lack of sleep the night before.Just to give you a little insight, this year's prize is worth almost $2 Million which includes the house, all the furnishings and accessories, a brand new 2015 Yukon Denali and $250,000 cash (which you'll need to offset the taxes I'm sure!)It's a great house in a beautiful setting (just wait until you see the pics!) and is a perfect getaway for anyone who loves to ski or enjoy water sports during the summer months. I'd be renting it out year round! I must say though, for a 3200 sf home, it didn't feel as big as it sounds, but it is a lovely home and very cozy.
