How to Avoid the Biggest Mistake Home Sellers Are Making Right Now!

We’re hearing a lot of talk about a real estate recovery. There are predictions and speculations about when this current cycle will end, but we all know that it’s really a crap shoot.  None of us… not you, not me, not even those educated analysts know what’s really going to happen.  It’s all this speculation that got us in trouble in the first place.Different parts of the country are experiencing different levels of recovery if you can even call it that. Some areas never had to recover at all and some areas are still struggling.  Despite this realistic and practical way of thinking, I’m noticing that this “recovery” is affecting how home sellers are viewing their home sale, particularly in the San Francisco Bay Area (will we never learn!).  Some are starting to rest on their laurels, thinking they no longer have to work as hard for the sale.  They’re willing to cut corners thinking that their house will sell quickly. All I can say to that is “big mistake…HUGE!”In this volatile lending environment, with so many buyers having to jump through hoops to qualify for a loan, along with the large pool of bargain hunters still looking to get the “best deal”, not putting forth the effort to market the best property possible is just well…STUPID! Sorry, I just couldn’t think of a more politically correct word that had the same impact.Regardless of the market conditions, you should always make the effort to create the most marketable product. This will help you sell it that much faster and more times than not, you’ll receive more and higher offers.  Who doesn’t want higher profits?  If you don’t want or need it, by all means, send them my way!backfireAnytime you put a less than stellar product on the market to “try it out”, the experiment backfires. You lose the oh so important initial traffic, you lose time, you lose money due to price reductions, concessions, credits, unplanned repairs and upgrades and much, much more. So, do yourself a favor and take it from someone to has been on both sides of the process many times…DON’T shortcut the process, don’t cheap out now…you’ll end up paying more in the end. This is one of the reasons why I decided to put together the Home Selling Success Telesummit.  Join us June 28-July 2 when our panel of experts will share with you how to ensure a successful home sale!  Go reserve a seat in your name now!
