Update Your Home with Beautiful Lighting from Your Local Home Improvement Store

Lighting is the jewelry in your home. It adds that finishing touch.  It's the crowning piece that really tells the story of the space and the homeowner's style.  Unfortunately, too many homeowners only view it from a functional standpoint.  Sure it lights up your room, but does it light up your soul or that of your buyers if you are selling your home?Life's too short to have ugly lighting! In a recent conversation with a friend who had some dated light fixtures in her home and was missing a cover for a wall sconce, she commented that they were so old that she doesn't even know if she can find a replacement.  My advice is forget about replacing the cover...replace the entire light fixture!I decided to pay a visit to a local big box home improvement store and noticed that there was a large selection of light fixtures at VERY AFFORDABLE prices.  This was newer merchandise so of course I had to take some photos to share, so tell me what you think...Take a look at these table lamps...both are less than $20. Can you picture them in a bedroom, an office or even a family room?  I love the colors and the patterns. It will really add some character to a neutral space.[nggallery id=12]How about these pendant lights?  Clean, contemporary and very inexpensive. Prices start at $88 and the one that looks like shell or mother of pearl is only $174.  It comes with a matching wall sconce for less than $55![nggallery id=11]And last but not least, feast your eyes on these wall sconce options. They've come a long way from what used to be available.  These are very nice looking fixtures and they are all less than $60 with prices starting at just $20! There is absolutely no excuse for keeping your home stuck in another era.  Head to your local home improvement store.  It's time to invest in little home improvement which will result in a life improvement...especially if you're considering putting your home on the market.I would love to see what you've done in your home using these tips.  Please leave your comments below.
