Tour Modernism Week Show House 2017: The Christopher Kennedy Compound in Palm Springs Part 1

I love a good home tour.  It's right in line with my lifelong obsession with touring model homes. Lucky me, Modernism Week in Palm Springs happened to fall in line with my daughter's Winter Break schedule so we took the opportunity to do a road trip to Southern California with the tour of the Christopher Kennedy Compound as the finale to our weekend getaway and let's just say, it did not disappoint!The 2017 Modernism Week Show House, known as the Christopher Kennedy Compound is a big house at over 6000 square feet, so there is a lot of rooms and spaces to ooh and aah over.  With that said, this tour will have to be a 2 part series otherwise it'll end up being a mini Harry Potter saga.I do have to preface this photo tour with the caveat that this home warrants being seen in person. As beautiful as the photos are, there's nothing like seeing it up close in personal.  If you have the opportunity, GO!!!Ok, let's start with the entry...I mean, you can't help but smile when you walk in. Who wouldn't want to be greeted by this sun-shiny space. So happy and I absolutely adore the front door!And to the is the glamorous living room...Then the kitchen...The backsplash is a definite show stopper.  The mirror and marble mosaic kept the glamour theme alive!The dining room off the kitchen was a pleasant surprise. The combination of colors is a feast for the eyes that automatically draws you in.These wall sconces are what drew my immediate attention. Can we say "wow!!"I'm always telling clients that a powder room is fun space to just go nuts and a little outside your comfort zone. It's small space and can afford some wow factor and this one certainly has "it!"Just look at the marble floor detail...gorgeous!!The master bedroom suite is very grand with a large sitting area with views out to the backyard...I actually thought the bed was a bit small for such a large space but I guess if you enjoy a cozier sleeping arrangement, a queen bed will do.And then you enter the ensuite... a refreshment center is a must right?A private water closet...And a very spacious tub / shower spaceAnd a proper vanity to get ready for all those glamorous events.Are you ready for this master bedroom walk-in closet / office, aka #cloffice.  It's what dreams are made of...This wallpaper is everything!!!And the fun continues with another bathroom off the #cloffice. So fun with the flamingo wallpaper. This is the key to a successful marriage folks, separate baths! Not so bad when it looks like this...Masculine Officewith an inviting reading corner...And have you seen a more inviting laundry room? The mix of colors and pattern goes so well with the rest of the house.Isn't this home just fabulous? Again, if you can get to Palm Springs to see the Christopher Kennedy Compound in person, I highly recommend it.  Come back to see the rest of the house which include all #tweenapproved spaces...so much fun!!!
