Tour Modernism Week Show House 2017: The Christopher Kennedy Compound in Palm Springs Part 2

Welcome back to Part 2 of the 2017 Modernism Week Show House Photo Tour, aka the Christopher Kennedy Compound. Boy, Kelly Lee and Fred Moser certainly are lucky...their house totally exemplifies their personalities or their persona anyway, since I only know them through social media. If you haven't already seen Part 1, I invite you to go see it here, I promise you won't be disappointed!Today, I'm sharing what I call #tweenapproved spaces.  My 11 year old daughter, Alexa, absolutely LOVED this house. She's trying to convince me we need vacation home in Palm Springs. Can you blame her? Check these spaces out...This was the Girl's Bedroom... what little (or big) girl can resist all these punchy colors? Talk about eye candy! And how fun is this closet? Certainly isn't boring, that's for sure! And the adjoining bathroom is so whimsical...Barbie and Ken art for the win!And when you want to chill with your friends outdoors...how's this for a cool hangout? The graphic art painted on the pony wall is a great idea, especially if your walls are not in the best condition. It would be a fun, creative way to disguise it!This was her favorite space. Dubbed the #glamilyroom by Kelly herself, who also designed it, it's a perfect tween lounge, even if you're way past your teen years.  What makes a design successful is when people can envision how they would live in the space...mission accomplished!I'm drawn to the details and the steps leading up to the #glamilyroom from the casual pool friendly bar/lounge definitely got my attention.  Love the tile work on the curved steps. A really good tile setter is an artist in their own right and they are hard to find. Trust me, it's taken me years to finally find "the one".This wet bar connects to the backyard patio and was designed to play well with pool dipped guests is what I overheard the designer explain.  They chose materials and finishes that were water friendly.  The wallpaper is reminiscent of a cabana stripe.Alexa eyed that hammock in the atrium from the moment she walked through the doors.  Too bad she didn't get to test it out.Okay...onto our favorite part of the house...the backyard!!! This is an entertainer's paradise. This back patio is so spacious and has multiple seating areas. And of course, dining is center stage!Ready for the piece de resistance?Boom...your own backyard cabana, what?!!!Alexa was seriously scoping out this backyard space for her next birthday party. She literally wants me to rent it. It would such a dope venue! For reference, her birthday is in August and she's had a pool party every year since her 5th birthday so do you see how this just fits right into her plans?I mean, that view...amazing right? Here's where you can get changed for the pool...Oh, and this is the little bathroom by the pool...And finally, there's the pink bedroom... very serene.with a coordinating adjoining bath...Ok, that's a wrap on the Christopher Kennedy Compound. This 2017 Modernism Show House is soo good, I can't wait to see what's on deck for 2018! We had so much fun touring and I hope you had just as much fun living vicariously through me.  Despite the wet weather that taunted us during our Palm Springs getaway, we were grateful for a dry day during the tour of #villagolightly.
