Welcome to the 2021 Holiday Gift Guide for your Kitchen. My gift guide is more practical than most. These are products that I use every day in my own home and/or have installed in my client’s homes. Perhaps these are gifts you give yourself to refresh your home. I know I would be excited to receive them!

Starting with this battery-operated automatic soap dispenser. I have two of these on my kitchen sink counter, a chrome one for hand soap and a brushed nickel one for dish soap. The automatic dispense function comes in very handy when you have dirty hands. And yes, I installed these in my client’s kitchen as well. These would also work well in a bathroom and for the extra cautious, would be great for dispensing hand sanitizer!

The kitchen sink organizer suctions to the side of your sink and keeps your sponge readily available while allowing it to dry so it doesn’t get that funky smell. I recently replaced a plastic one with this chrome version and I love it. Not only is it prettier, but it also doesn’t collect all the yucky stuff since it’s a more open design.

As soon as the temperature drops, I crave a cup of tea to keep me warm. There’s nothing like this acrylic tea bag organizer to keep your tea collection in one place (ditch the boxes they come in) and the see-through container makes it easy to know exactly what you have and when it’s time to re-stock. It’s also an easy way to offer options to your guests.

This expandable cutlery tray/drawer organizer will have you opening up your drawers to admire them. No more digging through drawers to find what you need. Keep your various kitchen utensils organized and easily accessible. You’re welcome!

No dishpan hands allowed! Do your dishes in style with these chic black and white kitchen gloves. I’ve used utility-grade (i.e. ugly) kitchen gloves for years…these have been in my life for the last 18 months and I’m a little sad they’re currently unavailable. I’ll have to stock up as soon as they make a comeback.

This set of cutting boards has been a game-changer. Not only do they come with their own stand, but they also come in 4 different colors of gray (nice neutral color palette!) which makes it convenient to assign the two lighter colors for cutting fruits and vegetables and the two darker colors for meats. I have it sitting on my countertop for easy access and the stand is graduated so it’s super easy to pick the one you want to use. Don’t you love smart design?!

This cutlery drawer is perfect for those who don’t have a lot of drawer space to spare. I used to have the traditional expandable cutlery trays for my flatware and it took up too much space. This one is more compact so I was able to store more items in a drawer without it looking messy. This paired with the knife organizer is, dare I say it again, a game-changer!!!

If you can spare a cabinet, retrofitting it with a pull-out trash/recycling bin is totally worth it. We installed one of these units in my client’s home right next to the sink cabinet. This not only keeps the trash hidden away, but it also eliminates the need for a trash can to have to fit somewhere in the kitchen which never looks good and always gets in the way.

This microwave food cover is a must-have for every microwave. It keeps food from splattering all over the interior (you know you’re guilty) and it’s dishwasher safe. Mine stays in my microwave and when it gets dirty (cuz it’s doing its job), I can quickly wash it by hand or throw it in the dishwasher with the next cycle.

How I ever lived without an electric water kettle is beyond me. It is one of the most used small appliances in my house. I heat water in seconds for coffee, tea, cooking pasta, or boil eggs faster (I pour the hot water into the pot that’s just barely starting to heat up). It’s a workhorse! I love that it’s glass so I know if it needs to be cleaned. When hard water builds up, just boil a pot of water and add this magic potion, and voila, crystal clear again!

What this pandemic has not helped us do is lower our consumption of plastic, particularly with take-out food orders. We were all doing so well…sigh. In fact, at one point I decided to eliminate all the random plastic storage ware from my pantry and switched over to these glass storage containers which are not only healthier for us as people, but also for the environment. Plus, they nest nicely together so it’s easy to store.

Last but not least on this gift guide is another tool I use daily! I love it so much I packed it with me to Hawaii over the summer. If you mix your coffee with anything - matcha (like me) or collagen (also like me) or sweetener or creamer, anything that you want to blend well together for a smooth finish, this handheld frother is a must-have! It’s battery-operated and it works really well. In fact, this is a no-brainer gift - great as a stocking stuffer and an excellent complement to a coffee or tea basket. Whoever receives it will love it and why not treat yo self while you’re at it!

Happy Shopping! Stay tuned for the Bathroom edition. More must-haves coming your way!
