Welcome Back to the A-Z Home Decor Trend Guide 2014.Just a few more letters to go... Today I'm revealing the letter S home decor trend currently heating up the market, design blogs, and the internet. S is for...Sheepskin! Sheepskin is such a fun and cozy design element. It's been likened to a pet, but much lower maintenance. The long hairs are so soft that you can't help but want to pet it. I love the organic texture that it adds to a vignette and although the most popular colors are white and off-white, there are multiple color options as well. Just like these Mongolian sheepskin decorative pillows available on Overstock.com.

We incorporated 2 white mongolian sheepskin pillows to the living room couch in Episode 106 of Power Broker. See how the texture really stands out against the flat fabric of the couch cushions?

Sheepskin throw rugs are also popular choices to soften up a hard surface like these ghost chairs in the dining room below.

or layering in texture as a throw on the couch below...

How luxurious to have a sheepskin upholstered bench...and a lucite bench at that!! Another double trender...lucite & sheepskin!

Here's another bench...doesn't it look so inviting that you can't help but want to cozy up to it!

And of course, you can't go wrong with a large sheepskin rug...who needs a sleeping bag? I can imagine laying on that would be like lying on a cloud...

Do you have sheepkin decor in your home? I have a decorative sheepskin pillow on my banquette in my living room and my daughter has a faux sheepkin rug in your bedroom. She loves to lay on it to read or watch shows on her iPad. It's been used as a throw on her desk chair as well...it's a very versatile piece. Please share your sheepskin sassiness with me by posting pics to my Facebook Page or Tag me on Twitter @alicetchan & Instagram @alicetamchan and use hashtag #2014homedecortrend.You're also invited to follow my A-Z Home Decor Trends 2014 Pinterest Board where you can see even more inspiration photos of all the trends I'll being sharing throughout the 13 weeks...see you online!
