18 weeks later and we are finally done with the Waterton Project. Pheww!!! In this post, I will walk you through what we did on the exterior and follow-up with a separate post discussing what we did on the interior. For an in depth look at what this project looked like just a few short months ago, read all about it in this blog post.

Here's a reminder of what the exterior looked like before...

And here's what the exterior elevation looks like now...new roof, freshly painted, new front door, new exterior entry light, new address numbers and new mailbox. Everything looks great except for the landscaping. Unfortunately with the drought and the fact that no one has been "living" here for the last few months, the lawn and plants are a little dehydrated. I'm so glad we did not paint the brick. I've never been a fan of painted brick and I actually think the brick looked better after the house was painted gray. I just think painted brick would have detracted from all the lovely new elements, don't you agree?

Here's a closer look at the front door area...isn't this a sharp looking front door? It's a fir wood door with 4 panels of double white laminate glass and a marine finish which will protect it from the elements. Since it is a wood door, a coat of clear varnish every 5 years will help maintain its beauty.

This was the final piece to the exterior makeover...an aluminum garage door with white laminate glass panels flanked by two LED down lights. It was the element that really elevated this typical suburban ranch home into a chic, modern residence. Admit it, if you were driving down the street, you'd totally slow down to admire this house. Am I right? Just keep in mind that it takes 8 weeks to get this kind of attention so order early!

The deck outside of the kitchen got a makeover as well. Neglect had left it in a less than desirable state as you can see at the base of the French doors.

The redwood was sanded down to reveal its original beauty then restained and sealed.

Last, but not least, the fence surrounding the property received a makeover as well. A power wash made a huge difference...

It's so much fun to see the progression...

And the final results...what a difference! A nice, dark stain helps us achieve that modern aesthetic.

So that's the overview of the exterior. Stay tuned for a look at the interior and the incredible transformation that has taken place. See you in a few days!
