Welcome Back to end of the A-Z Home Decor Trend Guide 2014.I've been revealing the hottest home decor trends currently heating up the market, design blogs, and the internet and the final two trends are long overdue...sorry about that. Today's home decor trend starts with the letter Y for...Yellow Accents! I can't think of a more cheerful, happy color than the color yellow! Of course, there are different shades of yellow. I prefer a bright lemon yellow, not an egg yolk yellow. Yellow is the perfect accent color when you just want to add a little dose of happiness to a space. You can't help but smile. It really pops against very neutral backgrounds and catches your attention. Take a look at some of these examples and you'll see what I mean...How about painting your front door a friendly shade of yellow? Love how it stands out against the dark gray exterior of this contemporary home.
And on this more traditional entry...it's very inviting don't you think?
And once you enter the home, how about a pop of color to welcome you? These yellow stools are just the right amount of color to grab your attention and sets off beautifully against the white, gold and mirrors.
We added a yellow chair to this kitchen... the room was very quiet and that pop of yellow just added a punch of much needed pizzazz!
I absolutely love that this traditional chair frame is painted yellow and upholstered in a contemporary pattern which makes this chair so chic and modern.
And lastly, if you are bold enough, you can paint a yellow accent wall to really brighten up your space as seen here in Trina Turk's Palm Springs store. If you've never been, you must visit it. It's the epitome of resort chic. All the bright colors will transport you to a tropical retreat even if it's only in your imagination...sigh...
Do you have yellow accents incorporated in your home? I don't have a lot but I do have a large apothecary jar filled with faux lemons and limes by my bar area. These photos sure do spark some sunny inspiration to incorporate more yellow accents, especially since we're nearing the end of summer.
