Welcome Back to week 8 of the A-Z Home Decor Trend Guide 2014.Over a period of 13 weeks, I'm revealing the hottest home decor trends currently heating up the market, design blogs, and the internet. Today's home decor trend starts with the letter O for...Radiant Orchid spaces! As you may know, the Pantone Color of the Year is Radiant Orchid so it's only fitting that we incorporate the color of the year into our interiors. Radiant Orchid has been interpreted in many ways within the purple family - lavender, magenta, aubergine.  It's a very regal and elegant color when done right.  When done wrong, it could look like a pre-teen bedroom so...here's some inspiration to help you see how you can incorporate this trend into your own home. My favorite way to incorporate this trend is through wall art as in Ivanka Trump's dining room below...

or other decorative accessories like accent pillows in the photo above and below and of course, you can never go wrong with fresh flowers!

Z Gallerie has a pretty nice selection of accessories in this color wave.

I think this color combines very nicely with silvers and greys as well as gold and champagne tones.  Personally, I think a little goes a long way, but for those who really love this color, you can take it beyond just art and a few pillows as seen in the following examples (all photos via Pinterest).

What are your thoughts on the color of the year? Have you or would you incorporate it into your home decor? Please share your radiant orchid love with me by posting pics to my Facebook Page or Tag me on Twitter @alicetchan & Instagram and use hashtag #2014homedecortrend.You're also invited to follow my A-Z Home Decor Trends 2014 Pinterest Board where you can see even more inspiration photos of all the trends I'll being sharing throughout the 13 weeks...see you online!
